Documentary style wedding photography certainly lends itself to black and white pictures, probably because we associate documentary style photography with the past. It's only in more recent years that colour has been introduced to the news media. By removing all hue from an image we sometimes can better see the subject matter, objects seem to stand out more clearly and look sharper. It's been said many times but it's true, black and white pictures have a timeless feel to them, pictures to treasure forever.
Of course there is still a place for colour photographs within the reportage, candid or documentary style wedding album. The two colour pictures here for example work equally well in black and white but sometimes some pictures, just need to be in colour.
Not least because you spent so much time choosing those flowers!
